Planimetric maps are most commonly seen as street maps. They are maps with no relief features. These maps only show the horizontal positions, ignoring the vertical features. It correctly shows the distance between horizontal positions, and usually shows more detail such as roads, sidewalks, and bridges. This map shows the plans for a new city. It includes the roads and the locations of the buildings.
