PLSS Map

PLSS Map URL
The Public Land Survey System divides the land of the United States.  PLSS is a systematic land partitioning system.  The township shows the horizontal lines that are six miles apart.  The range shows the vertical lines that are six miles apart.  In this map of Minnesota, each congressional township is divided into 36 one-mile squared areas called sections.  Each section contains about 640 acres.  Each section on the map above has a number that represents its location.
